The city of SASKATOON is located in the wide open plains of central Saskatchewan,Canada,on the South Saskatchewan River. It is known as the "Hub City" or "City of Bridges" for its seven river crossings as well as the commercial and educational centre in the Province of Saskatchewan. The city's name originates for the Cree word "misaskwotomin"referring to the Saskatoon berry growing wild along the river bank. 

SASKATOON is composed of a wide ethnic group mostly of European decent along with an aboriginal population  of 10% . This great ethnic diversity is what makes this city a culturally  rich and interesting place to live in. 

The city of SASKATOON also boasts on of the sunniest cities in Canada averaging 2,381 hours of bright sunshine annually. It has fairly dry climate with extreme temperatures ranging from 40'C. in the summer to -40'C. in the winter.

SASKATOON is recognized as on the world's leading Agricultural Biotechnology centers with the National Synchroton facility on the University campus. Nearly two-thirds of the world's potash reserves are located around the SASKATOON area.
